FloodsThe towns of Malton and Norton were hit very badly by floods in March 1999 and again in November 2000.

This programme speaks to local residents whose houses were completely destroyed by the floods.

Kim Andrew of the Environment Agency explains what Ryedale district council are doing to solve the problem of the river flooding.

Local residents are very sceptical about whether this will actually work.

Their community spirit, and the free alcohol that was served in their local pub, got them through the last flood. However, they are unsure if they could survive another deluge.
